The Great Irony Of Hillary's Blame Game Against Bernie [Meme]

by

Brian Thomas reports that Hillary Clinton’s new book “What Happened,” in which she explains why she thinks she lost the election to President Donald Trump, is expected for release on September 12th, but a tweeted page reveals that, in part, she blames Bernie Sanders for saying negative things about her when they ran against each other in the primaries.

Clinton claims that Bernie couldn’t argue against her on policy, so he had to attack her personally.

“Because we agreed on so much,” Clinton writes. “Bernie couldn’t make an argument against me in this area on policy, so he had to resort to innuendo and impugning my character. Some of his supporters, the so-called Bernie Bros, took to harassing my supporters online. It got ugly and more than a little sexist.”

“Some” Bernie Sanders supporters said mean things to “some” Hillary Clinton supporters online.

Seriously, folks, this is in the book.

Hillary Clinton, when writing about her surprise loss on Election Day, is seriously writing about kids on Facebook and YouTube trolling each other in comments sections. Obviously, some Clinton supporters also said mean things online about Sanders.

Clinton has no shame playing the victim of Bernie’s attacks.

Remember that time Clinton said Bernie can talk about his grandchildren all he wants, but she actually has one? Because Bernie’s grandchildren are adopted, they aparantly don’t count. No, that didn’t get personal or ugly at all.

“His attacks caused lasting damage,” Clinton continues. “Making it harder to unify progressives in the general election and paving the way for Trump’s ‘Crooked Hillary’ campaign.”

No, actually, Sanders talking about negative things Clinton did isn’t to blame for Trump talking about them also.

“I don’t know if that bothered Bernie or not,” Clinton concludes.

Probably not, because it’s a childish excuse that only makes sense in Clinton’s head. She’s so desperate to blame someone else for “what happened” that she’ll write a book blaming Sanders and “Bernie Bros” on Twitter for losing the election, and it’s not supposed to be a comedy.

“He certainly shared my horror at the thought of Donald Trump becoming President, and I appreciate that he campaigned for me in the general election,” Clinton went on. “But he isn’t a Democrat — that’s not a smear, that’s what he says. He didn’t get into the race to make sure a Democrat won the White House, he got in to disrupt the Democratic Party.”

The primaries are long behind us, but Clinton’s still on a smear campaign against her former opponent. Her criticism: “He made me lose!”

That’s the quality we can expect from Clinton’s new book. Based on what we’ve seen, it’s akin to a spoiled grade-school kid’s diary, blaming everyone else for losing the spelling bee.

The Washington Post reports:

This, needless to say, isn’t likely to help the Democratic Party heal any time soon. I’ve argued before that Clinton’s decision to dwell upon the many allegedly unfair reasons for her general-election loss — Russia, James B. Comey, misogyny, debate questions, etc. — are likely to distract from the truly difficult work Democrats face in determining how they lost the Rust Belt to a historically unpopular nominee in Trump. Clinton seems to have far more interest in pointing the finger at everyone but herself. Perhaps her reasons are justifiable. But it also suggests that her and her party’s serious shortcomings were unimportant.

Given the book’s “What Happened” title and this past, it was clear Clinton would be doing a fair bit of blame-sharing in the book. What wasn’t as clear was how much she would dwell upon Sanders’s shockingly competitive challenge to her in the Democratic primary.

Clinton has no reason to attack Sanders after the election is far behind us, but she really let him have it anyway.
